An IEP meeting is a working meeting about your child's education. It can feel formal — a lot of people, a lot of paper — but you are not a bystander. You are part of the team.

You can also bring anyone you choose — an advocate, a family member, a friend, a therapist outside the school. You don't need permission. You should let the case manager know in advance so the meeting space accommodates everyone.
