How we handle personal information from website visitors and clients. Plain-language summary, then the full text.
Plain-language summary
We collect the minimum personal information needed to respond to inquiries and deliver services. We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We honor New Jersey privacy law and the California Consumer Privacy Act for visitors from those jurisdictions. Student records we receive in the course of our work are handled under FERPA-aligned terms.
What we collect
Form submissions. When you fill out a contact form, we collect the information you provide — name, email, phone, role, and the details of your inquiry. We use it only to respond to you and, if you become a client, to deliver services.
Site analytics. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Cookies. A locale cookie remembers your language preference. We do not use cookies for marketing.
Student records
When school districts engage us to interpret IEP meetings or translate documents, we receive student information protected under FERPA. We treat it accordingly: NDAs on file with our interpreters and translators, secure transmission of documents, no use of general-purpose cloud tools for student PII, and deletion or return of records on completion.
Your rights
To exercise any of these, email hello@educationaltranslations.com.
